Creative Bond

I have been noticing lately, the power of creativity to bring people together.  Strangers, neighbors, coworkers and classmates.  There is a calmless that comes over people when they are creating that allows them to ease into conversation, sit comfortably next to strangers, connect at a deep level of joy and to sit back and relax while taking in the full picture and deciding what their intuition thinks comes next in the process.

This makes me think of all the wonderful applications of this occurance:

I imagine…

  •  town meetings where residents create models or drawings of their unique visions for their town
  • School committee gatherings of administrators beginning with meditative drawing
  • College campuses requiring a class in art Journaling and allowing students to design their dorm rooms with paint and their own furnishings
  • Daily art classes in hospitals, homeless shelters and rehabilitation centers
  • Offices that begin every day with group exercise followed by group creations on whiteboards, in sand or with legos.

I believe that more art would make great minds greater, prolong lives and bring hope and joy to people’s work and lives, open up possibilities we never dreamed before.  The power of creativity to break down boundaries and open new doors to the emerging future, a new future full of change and growth and goodness is unquestionably.

Start creating more and let it all in…
